Pakistani singer, composer, and actor Ali Zafar’s new Pushto folklore song ‘Larsha Pekhawar’ has been trending number one on YouTube amassing an impressive 1.8 million views in a day since its release on September 22.
The song has featured Gul Panra and Fortitude Pukhtoon Core alongside Zafar. The music has been composed by Hassan Badshah and the video’s direction has been done by the Khayali Productions’ head Waleed Akram.
According to the music video’s description on YouTube, the song is a dedication to “Pashtun brothers and sisters”. “A tribute to their vibrant culture, values, and most of all bravery,” the caption read.
In an earlier video message on Instagram, Zafar had announced the song as a “humble tribute to the great people with one of the most vibrant, honorable and powerful cultures in the world”.
Zafar after the robust success of the song took to Instagram to thank his followers for making the music video trend number one. “Thank you so much for the love always,” the artist said.
Many listeners appreciated Zafar’s tribute to the Pashtun culture in the comment section on YouTube.
A user commented on the song being a “refreshing” take on the classic song and lauded the video’s inclusion of diverse Pashtun ethnicities present in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
So far the music video has amassed an impressive 1.8 million views in less than 48 hours.
