The Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the Combined Group indicated an increase of 0.22% last week. It is a 12.67% increases, compared to the SPI in the same period last year.
The combined Index was at 152.14 compared to 151.8 on Aug 19 and 135.03 on Aug 27 for FY20, according to the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
51 items were being monitored out of which, the average price increased for 22 items, decreased for 5 and remained constant for 24 items, during this week.
The weekly SPI percentage change by income groups showed an increase across all quantiles ranging from 0.15% and 0.31%.
The Lowest Income Group witnessed a weekly increase of 0.2% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 0.15%. Similarly, the SPI indicated an annual increase for all income groups ranging from 12.09% to 15.86%. Yearly increase for highest income group was 12.27% and 15.86% for lowest income group.
Sona urea on an average cost Rs.1780 per 50kg bag. A 0.06% inflation from last year and 6.33% higher than last year.
Similarly, cement stood at Rs673 per 50Kg, 0.15% expensive than last week and 21.04% higher than the previous year.
