Utility Stores MD Omar Lodhi resigns

ISLAMABAD: Omar Lodhi has resigned as the Managing Director of Utility Stores. The federal government has approved Lodhi to remain the MD for another three years.

The extension was approved by the Ministry of Industry and the Utility Stores Board.

Commenting on his resignation, the officer said that he is resigning on personal grounds, and the government was willing to facilitate him with the continuation of his duties as utility stores MD. “The government wanted to give more opportunity… resigned on personal grounds,” said Omar Lodhi.

Under Lodhi, the Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USC) in March signed an agreement with the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) for its digitisation by July this year.

Around 4,881 retail stores, 124 warehouses, 64 regional offices, 9 zonal offices along with all USC business processes including supply chain, warehousing, financials, human resources, payroll, and E-commerce will be automated by July 2021. This would be one of the largest digital transformations of an organisation in Pakistan with an enormous network of operational locations.
