Two TTP terrorists killed during encounter in South Waziristan: ISPR

Both terrorists were active members of the militant Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Sajna group.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that during an intelligence-based operation in Nargosa, South Waziristan, two Taliban terrorists were killed and another was apprehended, while no casualties were reported by the security forces.

Both terrorists were active members of the militant Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Sajna group. Terrorist Usman Ali, a resident of Ladha, South Waziristan District was involved in improvised explosive device (IED) attacks on security forces in 2016, 2019, and 2020. He was also involved in firing on checkposts. Terrorist Waheed Lashtai, resident of village Mandita was a terrorist trainer, IED expert, and routinely engaged in attacks on security forces, specifically in 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2017. 

Terrorist Usman was also involved in the attack on security forces on October 14, 2020 which left Capt Umer Cheema, two JCOs and three soldiers were martyred while four were injured. 

This latest encounter is part of a series of security operations ongoing in the Waziristan region.
