Three sectors in Islamabad placed under lockdown amid rising cases of COVID-19

ISLAMABAD: Three sectors of the federal capital, F-11/1, Sector I-8/4 and Sector I-10/2, will be sealed from tonight after each sector saw nearly 50 diagnosed cases of the COVID-19. 

The UK variant of the virus has been diagnosed in Islamabad. In response, the local administration has announced that commercial areas and amusements parks in the capital will be “completely locked down” on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The city administration has also placed additional restrictions, such as; suspending permission to hold any functions, festivals and gatherings, banning indoor activities and capping all outdoor activities to 300 people.

Offices are not allowed to call more than 50 per cent of their staff. Any violation in any premises of social distancing or mask-wearing will lead to it being sealed.
