Taliban ‘thankful’ to Pakistan for Afghan stance at UNGA

Taliban has appreciated the efforts of Pakistan for supporting the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan internationally on Sunday. 

In an interview, Taliban spokesman and Acting Deputy Information Minister Zabihullah Mujahid in an interview to Pakistan channel said that Afghanistan Government appreciates Pakistan’s demands in the international community that urged for establishing better ties with Afghanistan.

Mujahid said, “ Pakistan is our neighbor country and Afghanistan is thankful for Pakistan’s stance regarding [the] support [of] the Taliban [in UNGA].”

Mujahid said Afghanistan would be further connected by road to Peshawar and different cities of Pakistan.

To a question, he said that the desecration of the Pakistani flag at the Afghan border was an unfortunate incident.

The acting deputy minister assured in the interview that actions would be taken against anybody who would try to damage the friendly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

To another question, he said that if an invitation was extended to the Afghan leadership for a visit to Pakistan, the proposal would be considered.

Mujahid also said that Afghanistan wanted friendly relations with other countries and desired to expand trade and economic ties.

“We hope that our neighboring countries will continue to extend support to Afghanistan internationally.”

Acting Deputy Information Minister of Taliban, also claimed that the war in Panjshir had ended and his group did not aspire for war with anybody.

The time has come for the Afghan nation to work for the progress and prosperity of Afghanistan, the spokesman said.

After achieving peace in Afghanistan our priority was to expand trade with other countries, he added.

The Taliban spokesman warned of action if any group attacked Afghanistan or fought with the Taliban government.
