Surah Al-Qadr is a short but highly significant chapter of the Quran, consisting of 5 verses. It was revealed in Makkah and focuses on the greatness of Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree), the most blessed night in the Islamic calendar. This surah highlights the immense mercy and blessings of Allah granted to believers on this special night.
The surah begins by stating that the Quran was revealed on Laylatul Qadr, a night more valuable than a thousand months (approximately 83 years). This means that worship, prayers, and good deeds performed on this night carry the reward of a lifetime of devotion.

The surah encourages believers to seek this night, especially in the last ten nights of Ramadan, and engage in worship, prayer, and repentance to gain Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

سورۃ القدر قرآن مجید کی 97ویں سورت ہے، جو 5 آیات پر مشتمل ہے۔ یہ مکی سورت ہے اور لیلۃ القدر (شبِ قدر) کی فضیلت اور برکات کو بیان کرتی ہے۔ اس سورۃ میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس عظیم رات کی اہمیت واضح کی ہے، جس میں قرآن مجید نازل ہوا۔
سورۃ القدر کی پہلی آیت میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں کہ “ہم نے اس (قرآن) کو شبِ قدر میں نازل کیا”۔ اس سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ یہ رات نہایت بابرکت اور مقدس ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس رات کو “ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر” قرار دیا ہے، یعنی اس ایک رات میں کی جانے والی عبادت کا اجر 83 سال کی عبادت کے برابر ہے۔
یہ سورت مزید وضاحت کرتی ہے کہ اس مقدس رات میں فرشتے اور حضرت جبرائیل (علیہ السلام) اللہ کے حکم سے زمین پر نازل ہوتے ہیں اور آئندہ سال کے فیصلے طے کیے جاتے ہیں، جیسے رزق، زندگی، موت اور دیگر اہم امور۔ اس رات میں امن و سلامتی کا نزول ہوتا ہے اور یہ طلوعِ فجر تک جاری رہتی ہے۔
سورۃ القدر ہمیں اس بات کا درس دیتی ہے کہ یہ ایک بے حد قیمتی موقع ہے جس میں بندہ اللہ کی رحمت، مغفرت اور برکتیں حاصل کر سکتا ہے۔ ہمیں چاہیے کہ ہم رمضان کے آخری عشرے کی طاق راتوں میں خصوصی عبادت کریں، دعا مانگیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا حاصل کرنے کی کوشش کریں۔ اس سورۃ کا پیغام یہ ہے کہ شبِ قدر کو تلاش کرنا اور اس میں عبادت کرنا دنیا و آخرت میں کامیابی کا ذریعہ ہے
