Pakistan has reported 42 deaths and 2,060 new cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 10,928 people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
A total 44,958 people were tested for coronavirus of which 2,060 were positive
The country’s active coronavirus cases fell below 60,000 for the first time in nearly two months, NCOC data showed on Saturday.
At present, active cases are 52,042. The country last reported 59,761 active cases on July 29.
Pakistan’s total confirmed cases are 1,236,888, of which 1,157,322 people have recovered, NCOC stats showed.
The COVID-19 death toll is 27,524.
The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate now stands at 4.58 percent. Pakistan has been reporting a positivity rate below 5 percent for the last eight days.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has administered at least 76,141,484 doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs two doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 17.6 percent of the population.
During the last week, Pakistan administered am average about 767,771 doses each day. At that rate, it will take a further 57 days to administer enough doses for another 10 percent of the population.
