Six Pakistani players test positive for COVID-19 in New Zealand

Pakistan’s 35 member squad landed in New Zealand a few days ago for three T20’s and two Tests. All players were tested negative before boarding the plane. However, six of the players have now been tested positive for COVID-19 in New Zealand.

The name of the players have not been revealed yet. The officials of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have been notified of this development while all the six players have been isolated from the rest of the contingent. These players will be shifted to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

NZC also confirmed this news on their official website. In addition to this Pakistan’s training while in quarantine has also been put on hold and authorities are investigating the matter. It has been reported that some members in the squad violated the standard order procedures (SOP’s) on the first day of quarantine.

According to the provided schedule, Pakistan are set to play two four-day warm up matches from December 10, while the three match T20 series will start from December 18.
