Shaukat Khanum Fundraising the last public function Imran attended

Former prime minister Imran Khan addressed the Shaukat Khanum Fundraising Ceremony in Islamabad as his last public engagement on Saturday.

During the ceremony, PTI Chairman Imran, who became the first prime minister of Pakistan to be ousted through a no-confidence motion, asked the private sector to come forward and join hands with the government in providing free and low-cost health facilities to the masses.

He said that Pakistan was moving toward the basic principles of the “Riyasat-e-Madinah” — including humanity, justice and self-respect — and soon, it would be one of the great nations.

Imran said that the welfare of the weak segment of society is the responsibility of the state and the PTI-led government had introduced health cards to provide health coverage to the people.

He said that every family would be able to get free treatment for up to one million rupees through the health universal card.

The ex-prime minister said health coverage had been provided to every citizen for three years, and this “Sehat Card” initiative would be helpful to increase the scope of private hospitals in the country.

The former prime minister said Pakistanis are one of the most philanthropic nations in the world and has so far donated Rs63 billion to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital for free treatment of cancer patients.

He said cancer is a dangerous disease, and its treatment is very expensive, so more hospitals are needed in the country.

IMRAN’S LAST ORDER AS PM: Imran Khan left the PM House on Saturday night as a no-confidence motion was adopted against him for his personal residence in Bani Gala, he performed some duties as prime minister.

Shahbaz Gill, the special assistant to Imran Khan on political communication, revealed that before walking out of the Prime Minister’s House, Imran Khan issued some last orders.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Gill said that before leaving the office, Imran Khan ordered his principal secretary Azam Khan to report to the Establishment Division.

Gill wrote that Imran Khan praised Azam Khan for his professionalism and acknowledged his services as he fulfilled his responsibilities with “utmost honesty and diligence.”

A notification had been issued regarding the transfer of Azam Khan.

“Mr Mohammad Azam, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, presently serving as Secretary to the Prime Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, is transferred and directed to report to Establishment Division, with immediate effect and until further orders,” the notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat read.

GILL’S TWEET ON IMRAN: The special assistant posted another emotional tweet saying he was the last person who bade farewell to the prime minister three minutes ago.

He wrote: “I have only one thing me, loyalty. I’m not a deserter. Indian media has resorted to propaganda and is spreading fake news. I can’t be disloyal to such a brave man.”
