The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that 100 nomination papers have been filed so far for the March 3 Senate elections.
According to an ECP statement, 52 nomination papers have been submitted for the general seats from all over the country, 18 for technocrats/ulema seats, 23 for women seats and eight for seats reserved for non-Muslims.
Thirteen nominations have been filed in the Punjab for general seats, and two each for technocrats/ulema and women seats.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14 nomination papers have been filed for general seats, six for technocrats/ulema seats, seven for women seats and three for non-Muslim seats.
In Sindh, 11 nomination papers have been filed for general seats, six for technocrats/ulema seats and five for women seats.
Ten papers have been filed for general seats in Balochistan, four for technocrats/ulema seats, six for women seats and five for non-Muslim seats.
Three papers have been filed for general seat and as many for women seats in the federal capital.
Today (February 15) is the last date for filing nomination papers.
