Saudi crown prince invites PM to visit Saudi Arabia

Imran reaffirms Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia.

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman has invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit Saudi Arabia in the “near future” in a telephone call as the latter lauded his ‘Saudi Green Initiative’.

In a telephone call to PM Imran Khan, MBS discussed bilateral ties with the premier and also inquire about his health. MBS wished Imran, who contracted coronavirus earlier this month, a speedy recovery.

PM Imran also inquired about the wellbeing of the crown prince who had recently undergone a surgical procedure, said a statement issued by Prime Minister’s Office.

Meanwhile, the prime minister wrote a letter to Saudi royals, lauding their “Saudi Green Initiative and Green Middle East Initiative”.

The prime minister also highlighted Pakistan’s ’10 billion Tree Tsunami’ initiative and its potential dividends to restore ecosystem and to combat climate change.

While highlighting the complementarities between both countries’ environmental initiatives, the PM hoped for enhanced bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing in this field.

Prime Minister Imran Khan conveyed warm wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The premier reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen amiable and fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
