Sajjad wins national snooker championship for 4th time

Muhammad Sajjad had to work hard on Monday to claim the 46th National Snooker Championship and become the national champion for the fourth time by 7-6 frames.

Sajjad and 16-year-old Ahsan Ramzan had a thrilling final of the championship held in Karachi which the former won by 7-6 frames.

The 13-frame final was tied at 6-6. Sajjad took advantage of his experience and won the frame and the title by a margin of only 12 points.

A total of 21 century breaks were recorded in the championship. Sajjad played a record break of 147 for which he was given an additional cash award of Rs100,000. His organisation also gave him a cash prize.

Both the finalists will represent Pakistan in World Snooker Championship.

Guest of honour Arif Usmani gave away trophy and Rs100,000 cash award to Sajjad while runner-up Ahsan was given Rs50,000.
