Sabir Sami of Pakistani descent has been nominated to head the KFC Division as Chief Executive Officer. At the moment, Sami serves as the Chief Operating Officer for KFC Division and Managing Director for KFC Asia.
Sami, now residing in Toronto, is an MBA graduate from Karachi University. He has also worked at KFC Pakistan, Turkey, Middle East, Asia MD and North Africa. The brand YUM! Brands Inc has nominated him to replace Tony Lowings as the CEO of KFC Global Division. Business Wire reported on Wednesday that he will be joining as the CEO from January 1, 2022.
Yum! Brands Inc released a statement that Sami will be responsible for leading KFC’s brand strategy and performance as part of his new role with the company.

Sami, 45, expressed gratitude and said that he finds himself extremely excited and privileged to be able to continue working with KFC’s talented and dedicated and amazing franchise partners around the globe. He said that he looks forward to keep strengthening and accelerating the development of the “powerful, iconic brand,” which according to him is “well-loved and well-trusted”.
Business Wire reported that Sami manages the region comprising over 15% of all KFC Division restaurants and represents 17 markets with high-growth prospects. Sami has played a major role in the growth of the business and establishing the brand as the most R.E.D brand in the region.
He has served companies like Procter &Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser and the Coca-Cola Company in various leadership-focused roles.
