After clean sweeping South Africa in the Test series, Pakistani players have made giant strides in ICC’s latest Test rankings.
After finishing the series as the leading wicket-taker and a 10-wicket haul in the second Test, Hasan Ali has jumped 21 places to 32nd position. Shaheen Shah Afridi is now on 30th after moving four places. Muhammad Abbas currently sits at 12th position.
Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsmen Muhamamd Rizwan has grabbed the 16th spot in the latest rankings for batsmen after scoring match-winning century in Rawalpindi. Before the start of the series, he was ranked 35th.
Captain Babar Azam has surpassed India’s Cheteshwar Pujara to claim 6th spot in the rankings. Faheem Ashraf, the top scorer for Pakistan in the series has jumped to 47th position from 66th. Fawad Alam has gained four places to reach 74th position.
On the other hand, South African opener Aiden Markram was also rewarded for his gutsy effort in the fourth innings of the match. He has advance from 23rd to 14th position after his century. Anrich Nortje claimed 33rd position while Geroge Linde, the left arm off spinner has moved 36 places to claim 74th.
