Remaining PSL games to begin from June 9: PCB

The tournament will be played in Abu Dhabi, despite speculation in recent days that it was going to to be moved to Sharjah

Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced the schedule of the remaining games of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The tournament will now resume on June 9 and will conclude on June 24 in Abu Dhabi.

“The remaining matches of the PSL 6 will be played from June 9-24 in Abu Dhabi. There will be a total of six double-headers including one in the play-off stages,” a PCB official said.

“Matches on the usual days will start at 9:00 pm PST while in the case of double-headers, the first match will start at 6:00 pm PST and the second match will be played at 11:00 pm PST,” he stated, adding that the detailed match schedule will be announced in due course.

PSL 6: How the six teams stack up for remaining fixtures

Keeping in mind the delay, the PCB contacted with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and has successfully rescheduled Pakistan’s departure to England. Pakistani contingent will now travel to the United Kingdom on June 25 after the completion of the tournament instead of June 23. This change will have no effect on the schedule of the series which will begin from July 8

The PCB earlier announced that the remaining PSL 6 matches will be played in Karachi from June 1 to June 20 but had to shift the tournament to UAE due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in the country.

On March 4, the PSL 6 was postponed after 14 matches due to rising COVID-19 cases among players and support staff.
