Qureshi unveils dossier on Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that Pakistan had completed a dossier on the human rights violations committed by the Indian forces in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Addressing a press conference alongside National Security Adviser Moeed Yousaf and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, the foreign minister said that Pakistan will share this dossier with the international community to expose the Indian government, that has deployed 900,000 troops in the occupied valley to oppress the local populace.

Qureshi said that the 131-page dossier contains 3 chapters and 113 references, 26 of which are international media review reports, and 41 are reports from Indian media and thinktank.

The dossier contains reports of 32 human rights watchdogs and 14 reports by Pakistan in an apparent bid to ensure partiality, the minister said.

Foreign Minister Qureshi revealed that the dossier listed “solid proof” of extrajudicial killings through fake encounters and false flag operations by the Indian occupation forces.

The document also underscored how the Indian government had linked Kashmir’s legitimate struggle for independence to terrorism, added Qureshi.

Qureshi said that Indian war crimes have also been detailed in the dossier.

Recalling Syed Ali Geelani’s funeral, he said that his own family members were not allowed to attend the funeral and were instead tortured. The occupation forces took away the body of the freedom fighter and buried it at an undisclosed place ignoring his will.

He castigated India for not allowing independent observers in Occupied Kashmir and distorting the realities.

Qureshi said that the Indian atrocities will be exposed in the dossier as it contains solid evidence of “fake encounters” and India’s tactic of framing Kashmiri freedom fighters as “terrorists”.

He said that weapons are planted in the homes of innocent Kashmiris.

Qureshi also talked about the Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019 which merged Jammu and Kashmir within the Indian Union, removing its autonomy.
