On Wednesday, the federal government removed Amir Zulfiqar as Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad and has appointed Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman in his place.
A notification has been offered in this regard which says: “Qazi Jami-ur-Rehman, a BS-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving under Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is transferred and posted as Inspector General, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, under Interior Division, in his own pay and scale, with immediate effect and until further orders.”
This development comes shortly after a 22-year-old boy was killed in Islamabad by policemen.
