Punjab, Sindh issue new COVID-19 restrictions, businesses to operate between 6am and 6pm

In a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19, the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh have limited the business timings from 6am to 6pm. This decision was taken in light of the SOP’s violations in the markets.

In addition to this, there will be a ban on indoor weddings, face masks have been made mandatory and work from home policy for both private and government offices.

According to the new guidelines, only 50 percent of the staff should come to the office while the rest of them should work from home.

All these measures have been taken according to the guidelines provided by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC), the authority devising the policy to fight the disease in the country.

Yesterday, the Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood announced the closure of educational institutions across the country from November 26.

According to the latest data provided by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 2954 people have tested positive for COVID-19 while 48 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours.

As of November 23, the total actives cases in Pakistan are 40,379. In the last 24 hours around 39,165 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,837; Punjab: 15,678; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,392; Islamabad: 6,804; Balochistan: 602; Gilgit Baltistan 313 and Azad Kashmir: 539

Out of 1834 vents allocated for COVID-19 in the country, 281 vents are currently occupied.

A total of 379,883 cases detected so far (AJK 6203, Balochistan 16846, GB 4558, ICT 27555, KP 44932, Punjab 115138, Sindh 164651)

Till now, 7744 people have lost their lives to this deadly virus in Pakistan.
