Punjab records the highest number of COVID-19 causalities

In the last 24 hours, 1,340 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 36 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of February 20, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 24,081. Yesterday, 42,332 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 12,205; Punjab: 16,130; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP):7,268 ; Islamabad (ICT):5,142 ; Balochistan:504 ; Gilgit-Baltistan (GB): 570 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 513.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 240 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 569,846 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 9718; Balochistan:18972 ; GB:4951 ; ICT:43282 , KPK:70716 ; Punjab:166777 and Sindh:255430.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 12563 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5185 casualties followed by Sindh: 4276; KPK:2027; Islamabad: 488; Balochistan: 199; GB: 102 and AJK: 286.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,050 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 8,644,847 tests.
