Punjab records highest number of COVID-19 casualties

A total of 573,384 cases have been detected so far in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 1050 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 41 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As of February 23, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 24,483. Yesterday, 33978 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,869; Punjab:12,157; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP):5,985; Islamabad(ICT):4,580; Balochistan:376; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB):430 and Azad Kashmir(AJK):581.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 250 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 573,384 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 9878; Balochistan:18993; GB:4951; ICT:43623, KPK:71146; Punjab:168348 and Sindh:256445.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 12658 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5237 casualties followed by Sindh:4293; KPK:2043; Islamabad: 493; Balochistan: 199; GB: 102 and AJK: 291.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,069 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 8,752,533 tests.
