Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz claimed that the PTI awarded tickets for Senate elections to millionaires and billionaires. The poor party workers cannot bear Imran Khan’s expenses that is why they cannot get tickets.
Talking to media in Gujranwala on Monday afternoon, Maryam said that the PTI members stood against the party leadership, apparently referring to objections to award of tickets for Senate election to Faisal Vawda and others in Sindh and Balochistan.
She claimed that tickets were awarded to the rich so that votes could be bought for the Senate.
She criticised the prime minister that he always referred to his 22 years long struggle and said sarcastically that he could not find an able person in his party whom he could award a ticket.
She said the prime minister used to criticising political parties but had himself picked millionaires and billionaires for Senate election.
Maryam said that former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) consensus candidate.
She said the PML-N awarded tickets to workers and those who have struggled for the party. Nawaz Sharif did not issue tickets to any billionaire, she maintained.
Maryam said that she would not request the government to take her name off the Exit Control List and added that “Maryam Nawaz is not going abroad.”
WAZIRABAD: Later addressing a rally in Wazirabad ni the evening, Maryam said that she is the daughter of Punjab that’s why she will talk about the people of Punjab. Bad days will be over soon as Nawaz Sharif is returning.
She said she has not come to ask for votes, she has come to remember Nawaz Sharif era. Only Nawaz Sharif served the people of Wazirabad, she added.
The PML-N leader said the cost of living has been spiralling. When sugar and wheat of Punjab will become dearer, she will stand by the people of Punjab.
She labelled Imran Khan’s government a thief who stole flour and sugar, but the group is itself making hue and cry.
Maryam said the PTI announced to construct five million houses, and asked the people has anyone got a house. It announced creation of 10 million jobs, has anyone got a job.
She said the PTI took Rs15,000 billion loan but laid not a single brick. The PTI built metro at a cost Rs125 billion but it is not running.
