Preview: Multan Sultans to go up against Karachi Kings

Multan Sultans will square off against the defending champions Karachi Kings.

Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium will have two action-packed matches today. In the first match defending champions Karachi Kings will restart their PSL 6 campaign against struggling side Multan Sultans.

Karachi Kings are looking like the team to beat. In the first leg of the tournament, Karachi Kings played five matches and won three of them. They are second on the points table with a run-rate of 0.697.

In their last outing, Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets. Set to chase 189, they were guided home by star batsmen Babar Azam, who made unbeaten 77 runs innings in a crucial stage.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans did not have a great start in the opening matches of PSL6. They won only one match out of their five and will be looking to find the right combination for the playing eleven.

Mohammad Rizwan has been playing very well for the national team and he has also performed brilliantly for the Sultans as well. In fact, in the PSL 2021, he is the leading run-scorer with 297 runs from five games at an average and strike-rate of 59.40 and 140.09 respectively.

Meanwhile, All eyes on star cricketer Babar Azam as he was the key player for Karachi Kings and he is the second-highest run-getter with 258 runs at a strike rate of 138.7.

Among bowlers, Karachi Kings will also rely on Mohammad Amir, who has the potential to changed the match situation.

Multan Sultans’ emerging cricketer, Shahnawaz Dahani will be key for the energy he brings into the game.
