A Presidential Palace official was killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Kabul on Saturday evening, a source said.
The incident took place in the Khawja Musafir area in the Paghman district of Kabul when Ahmad Fawad Amiri was on his way to a mosque.
Police said that an investigation has started into the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Earlier in the day, six people, including two civilians and four security force members, were killed in different incidents in Kabul.
A government employee, Baryalai Tokhi, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Rishkhor area in Kabul’s District 7, sources said.
Police confirmed the incident and said investigation has started.
Meanwhile, police said that Rafi Osmani, a lecturer at Peshgam Higher Education Institute, was killed in an attack by gunmen when he was on his way to the university in Kabul’s District 4 on Saturday morning.
Four security force members were killed in an attack by armed men in the Panja Chinar area in Kabul’s Paghman district on Saturday morning, police said.
