PPP is ready to sacrifice Sindh government, Bilawal

Bilawal Bhutto said the time for dialogue has ended now.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, co-chairperson of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), said PPP stands by the decision of resignation from assemblies including Sindh assembly. He said the Central Executive Committee of the party would take the final decision.

“I am taking the proposal of resignation from the National Assembly, Sindh Assembly to the CEC,” Bilawal remarked while speaking to the media in Lahore outside Mian Nawaz Sharif’s residence. “PPP stands by the decision of resignations from assemblies, and I am receiving resignations of my lawmakers in large numbers.” He visited to offer his condolences to the Sharif family over the passing of Maryam Nawaz’s grandmother, Begum Shamim Akhtar.

However, in the same breath, he also added that the PDM alliance would not take any step which could allow any undemocratic force to take advantage of the current situation. Bilawal Bhutto said the time for dialogue is over.

This comes in the backdrop of widespread media speculation that the PPP might not be as eager to leave the assemblies as it has a government in Sindh, and stands to gain but little with the PMD.

Maryam Nawaz said some ministers have approached for the dialogue. “I am not interested to talk as the time for dialogue is over,” she said. She said the government is seeking NRO from the PDM. She said PDM will hold its rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on 13 December.
