Police arrest quack for attempted sexual assault

Police arrested a quack in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday after he attempted to sexually assault a patient at a private clinic in the city.

The quack tried to sexually abuse the patient who came for the operation to a private clinic in Balkh Sarwar City near the teaching hospital in Civil Line police station limits.

The perpetrator was arrested by the police from his clinic. Police said the victim was shifted to the trauma centre of the teaching hospital after her health condition deteriorated. The case was filed and proceedings had been initiated.

The patient was brought to the private hospital in Balkh Sarwar City by her family in the afternoon after she complained of severe abdominal pain.

At the private clinic, the quack identified as Muhammad Imran alias Ishtiaq had examined the patient and claimed she had an appendix problem. The quack later transferred the patient to the operating theatre.

At the operation theatre, the quack allegedly tried to drug the woman.

As a result of this, the patient started feeling dizzy and the quack allegedly attempted to rape her. However, after the victim regained consciousness, she made a noise that caught the attention of her husband and father.

The victim informed her family about the attempted rape incident and they called the police. Police reached the spot and arrested the quack, registering a case against the suspect under Sections 376, 511 and 419 on the statement of the victim’s husband Muhammad Saeed.
