PM to visit Saudi Arabia soon, says FO

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Saudi Arabia to meet King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to discuss bilateral ties.

The PM will be visiting Riyadh at the invitation of MBS, said Foreign Office in a statement. The PM will meet the Saudi leadership during the visit. Both sides will discuss regional security and bilateral ties, the FO said, adding that the date of the visit will be announced soon.

Last month, Meanwhile, the prime minister wrote a letter to Saudi royals, lauding their “Saudi Green Initiative and Green Middle East Initiative”.

The prime minister had also highlighted Pakistan’s ’10 billion Tree Tsunami’ initiative and its potential dividends to restore ecosystem and to combat climate change.

While highlighting the complementarities between both countries’ environmental initiatives, the PM had hoped for enhanced bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing in this field.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had conveyed warm wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The premier had reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen amiable and fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
