Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Pakistan Navy’s headquarters in Islamabad on Monday, where he was informed of the regional maritime security situation along with a detailed briefing on the challenges and measures taken by the Navy for the maritime sector’s development.
The Prime Minister was welcomed by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, after which he was presented with a guard of honour.
He commended the naval forces for their provision of security to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, especially to the the Gwadar Port. He assured them of his government’s cooperation, adding that the promotion of the maritime sector was a key objective of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
Federal Ministers Pervez Khattak, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Special Assistant Dr. Moeed Yousaf, and senior officers were also present at the occasion.
