PCB reacts to delay in players and support staff visas

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday said that they are hopeful that all players and support staff will get visa confirmation by today for the remaining games of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The Indian contingent mainly comprising of broadcasters and technicians have been issued visas for Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, 26 out of 27 South Africans have also received their UAE visas. These include support staff and players like Faf Du Plessis, Herschelle Gibbs, David Miller, Rilee Rossouw, Cameron Delport and Michael Smith.

Most of the people, who will be travelling to Abu Dhabi from Pakistan via chartered flights have also been issued UAE visas.

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, who left for South Africa after the conclusion of the Zimbabwe series, has also been issued the visa.

Teams will start their quarantine after checking in at a hotel in Abu Dhabi before 2pm on May 27.

On Tuesday, the PCB delayed flights of the players and officials who were supposed to leave today from Pakistan.

“Departure to UAE from Pakistan delayed by a day due to non-issuance of visas of all passengers,” said a PCB official.

“Players and officials will continue to remain in isolation at their respective hotel rooms for one more day,” he added.
