Pakistan’s COVID-19 death toll crosses 21,000 mark

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 92 deaths while 2,028 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of June 3, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 53,099. On Sunday, 51,523 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 15,008; Punjab: 21,178; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 8,309; Islamabad(ICT): 4,638; Balochistan: 1,409; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 356 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 625.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 430 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 908,576 recoveries.

A total of 926,695 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 19,344; Balochistan: 25,370; GB: 5,608; ICT: 81,446, KP: 133,450; Punjab:340,989 and Sindh: 320,488.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 20,779 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,132 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,073 KP: 4,113; Islamabad: 763; Balochistan: 285; GB: 107 and AJK: 549.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 3,927 patients being treated across the country. A total of 13,367,920 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
