Pakistani UN Peacekeeping soldier passes away in traffic accident in Sudan

NEW YORK: According to a statement by the Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York, a Pakistani soldier passed away in a traffic accident while serving in the UN peacekeeping force in Sudan. 

The information section of the Mission to United Nations stated that FPU-PAK-EFA-00085 Lance Naik Tahir Ikram passed away in Royal Care International hospital Khartoum on 20 February 21 at  0730 hours. 

He met Traffic accident on 2 February 21 while driving UNAMID Sewerage Truck from Kalma to Nyala at South Darfur Sudan.

He was in critical condition  since 9 February 21.

“Pakistan Mission sincerely expresses heartfelt condolence with the bereaved family at this hour of grief and sorrow. May Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace, grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement read.
