Earlier this morning, Imran Khan said Pakistan was to see a surge in the economy. In a post on Twitter, he shared statistics describing a sharp rise in remittances from Pakistani diaspora:  31% higher than September 2019 and 9% higher than August 2020.

According to the Prime Minister, remittances rose to $2.3 bn making it the 4th consecutive month where they remained above this level.

Almost immediately after the tweet, the State Bank of Pakistan, too, took to Twitter to share the ‘good news’ in a 3 part tweet.
