The National Command and Operation Centre revealed that in the last 24 hours, most deaths occurred in Sindh followed by Punjab. Out of 83 deaths during the last 24 hours, 51 died on ventilators. The total number of people to test positive for the virus on 17 December was 2972 while 83 people lost their lives.
As of 18 December, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan are at 42,478. The total number of tests conducted on 17 December was 39,171; 12,859 in Sindh, 15,395 in Punjab, 4,755 in Khyber Pakhtunkhua, 4,755in Islamabad, 395 in Balochistan, 367 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 645 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
So far, 399,852 people have across Pakistan, with no patients on ventilators in both Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. A total of 451,494 cases have been detected in the country as of now; AJK 7893, Balochistan 17868, GB 4810, ICT 35700, KP 54021, Punjab 130122 and Sindh with 201080 number of cases.
The collective tally of deaths in Pakistan has reached 9164; Sindh with 3270, Punjab with 3522, KP with 1511, ICT with 385, Balochistan with 177, GB with 99 and AJK with 200 deaths so far.
6,216,060 tests for the virus have been conducted in Pakistan so far. The total number of hospitals with COVID-19 facilities is 615, with 2,988 patients admitted across the country.
