Over the last 24 hours, 2,179 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan, according to data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Meanwhile, 65 people lost their lives to the virus, of which 58 died while hospitalised. 36 died while on ventilators.
Punjab registered the greatest number of COVID-19 deaths on January 29, followed by Sindh. In one day, 35 died in Punjab, 17 in Sindh, 11 in KP, 1 in Balochistan, and 1 in Islamabad Capital Territory.
The number of total fatalities registered in the provinces now stand at 4,716 in Punjab, 3,986 in Sindh, 1,980 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 475 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 195 in Balochistan, 102 in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and 259 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
11,623 total deaths have been registered in Pakistan so far.
As of January 30, 2021, there are 33,439 active cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan.
Yesterday, 41,435 tests were conducted across Pakistan, with 12,642 conducted in Sindh, 14,592 in Punjab; 6,629 in KP; 6,168 in ICT; 574 in Balochistan; 323 in GB, and 507 in AJK.
Of the ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 296 are occupied across Pakistan. 25% of the reserved ventilators are occupied in Peshawar, 37% in Multan, 38% in Islamabad, and 35% in Lahore. No patients are on ventilator in Balochistan, AJK, and GB.
Of the allotted oxygen beds, 41% are occupied in Peshawar, 34% in Multan, 35% in Karachi, and 24% in Rawalpindi.
To date, a total of 543,214 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Pakistan (AJK 8,972; Balochistan 18,809; GB 4,908, ICT 41,255; KP 66,679; Punjab 156,928; Sindh 245,663). 7,889,741 tests have so far been conducted in Pakistan.
