Pakistan sees 1772 COVID-19 infections, 48 fatalities: NCOC

In the last 24 hours, 1,772 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 48 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

As of January 20, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 35,163. Yesterday, 39,604 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,208; Punjab: 14,007; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,509; Islamabad: 6,540; Balochistan: 431; Gilgit-Baltistan: 466 and Azad Kashmir: 443.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 318 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 524,783 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,672; Balochistan: 18,640; GB: 4,892, ICT: 40,304, KPK: 64,078; Punjab: 150,889 and Sindh: 237,308.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 11,103 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,476 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,830, KPK: 1,799; Islamabad: 460; Balochistan: 191; GB: 102 and AJK: 245.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,872 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,481,688 tests.
