In the last 24 hours, 1,745 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 47 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most deaths were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.
As of January 20, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 34,916. Yesterday, 35,839 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 6,535; Punjab: 15,304; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,543; Islamabad: 5,777; Balochistan: 838; Gilgit-Baltistan: 443 and Azad Kashmir: 399.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 327 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 528,891 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,753; Balochistan: 18,696; GB: 4,899, ICT: 40,548, KPK: 64,651; Punjab: 152,158 and Sindh: 239,186.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 11,204 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,523 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,855, KPK: 1,823; Islamabad: 461; Balochistan: 192; GB: 102 and AJK: 248.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,858 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,561,977 tests.
