Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed on Tuesday said that all types of immigration departure and arrival from the Torkham border have been closed. The decision has been taken on the advise of the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) to control the spread of COVID-19.
The minister took to Twitter and said, “On the advise of the NCOC all types of immigration departure and arrival will be close from today at Torkham Border till the fresh Guidelines of NCOC (Ministry of Interior)
Pakistan recorded less than 1,000 new COVID-19 infections after a week. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the country registered 830 new cases while 25 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
With this Pakistan’s total death tally has reached 22,452. The daily case count has been over 1,000 since July 1. The positivity rate was recorded at 2.22%.
The total cases reported in Sindh so far are 341,275, in Punjab 347,014, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 138,616, in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 83,048, in Balochistan 27,445, in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 6,504 and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir 20,588.

The NCOC on Sunday issued detailed instructions to all the federating units to manage Eid-ul-Azha under strict COVID-19 safety protocols cattle markets to be established outside the cities across the country.
The NCOC has directed the provincial authorities to ensure that COVID-19standard operating procedures (SOPs) would be implemented in the Cattle Markets in light of these guidelines.
All staff and livestock vendors needed to be vaccinated. In contrast, the market administration was responsible for providing facilities for hand sanitiser, masks and rapid antigen test (RAT) at entry points, it added.
However, there was a ban on buying and selling of sacrificial animals inside the city.
The Forum has also released a proposed layout of model cattle market along with important guidelines to be followed in the market including, screening of all persons entering the cattle market, availability of veterinary doctor to check animal health at the entrance and arduous control measures mainly at entry, exit, marshalling area and control on the number of persons inside cattle market through token system etc. that may be devised as per need.
