Pakistan has reported at least 36 more deaths and 985 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours.

Out of 36 deaths, 18 died on ventilators while four died out of hospitals. A total of 22,188 deaths have been reported since the virus first hit Pakistan. On Friday, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) head Asad Umar said that Pakistan may face the fourth wave of the deadly coronavirus in July in the absence of a “strong enforcement” of the precautionary measures.

In a tweet on Friday, he said the high-level forum reviewed “the artificial intelligence-based disease modeling analysis today”. “In the absence of strong SOP enforcement and continued strong vaccination program, the 4th wave could emerge in Pakistan in July,” he said, urging people to “adhere to SOPs and vaccinate as soon as possible”.
