Pakistan reports 142 COVID-19 fatalities in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 4,487 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 142 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

As of April 27, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 87,794. Yesterday, 43,981 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,855; Punjab:19,368; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP): 6,924; Islamabad(ICT): 4,423; Balochistan: 480; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 319 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 612.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 599 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 699,816 recoveries.

A total of 804,939 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 16,659; Balochistan:21,803; GB:5,272; ICT: 73,804, KP:114,661; Punjab:293,468 and Sindh:279,272.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 17,329 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 8,097 casualties followed by Sindh:4,601; KP:3,156; Islamabad: 670; Balochistan: 232; GB: 105 and AJK: 464.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 6,149 patients being treated across the country. A total of 11,632,913 tests have been conducted so far.
