In the last 24 hours, 2,417 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 45 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).
As of January 15, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 34,169. Yesterday, 40,359 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 13,008; Punjab: 14,710; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,163; Islamabad: 5,153; Balochistan: 568; Gilgit-Baltistan: 390 and Azad Kashmir: 367.
Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 322 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 514,338 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,567; Balochistan: 18,515; GB: 4,882, ICT: 39,749, KPK: 62,719; Punjab: 147,953 and Sindh: 231,953.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 10,644 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,370 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,755, KPK: 1,762; Islamabad: 449; Balochistan: 189; GB: 101 and AJK: 237.
630 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,794 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,284,009 tests.
