Pakistan registers 1,262 COVID-19 infections, 58 deaths in one day

Over the last 24 hours, 1,262 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan, according to data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Meanwhile, 58 people lost their lives to the virus, of which 55 died while hospitalised. 37 died while on ventilators.

Punjab continues to register the greatest number of COVID-19 deaths, followed by Sindh.

The number of fatalities registered in the provinces stands at 5,026 in Punjab, 4,199 in Sindh, 1,986 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 484 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 198 in Balochistan, 102 in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and 281 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). 12,276 total deaths have been registered in Pakistan.

As of February 13, 2021, there are 25,649 active cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan.

Yesterday, 37,115 tests were conducted across Pakistan, with 10,679 conducted in Sindh, 13,142 in Punjab, 6,879 in KP, 5,065 in ICT, 474 in Balochistan, 369 in GB, and 507 in AJK.

Of the ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 259 are occupied across Pakistan. 25% of the reserved ventilators are occupied in Peshawar, 37% in Multan, 28% in Islamabad, and 35% in Lahore. No patients are on ventilators in Balochistan, AJK, and GB. Of the allotted oxygen beds, 61% are occupied in Gujrat, 23% in Multan, 40% in Peshawar, and 22% in Lahore.

To date, a total of 561,625 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Pakistan (AJK 9,408; Balochistan 18,924; GB 4,937; ICT 42,513; KP 69,386; Punjab 163,367; Sindh 253,090). 8,399,623 tests have so far been conducted in Pakistan,

631 hospitals within Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities, with 2,143 patients admitted across the country

So far, 523,700 people have recovered across Pakistan, making it a significant count.
