Pakistan recorded its highest single-day death tally in the second wave as 105 people passed away. The fatality rate in the country has hit 2.02 percent, according to the latest statistics provided by the National Command and Centre (NCOC).
Furthermore, 2731 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. As of December 16, the total active cases in the country stand at 48,369. Yesterday, 38,028 tests were conducted with conducting 10,289; Punjab: 16,931; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,134; Islamabad: 5,375; Balochistan: 506; Gilgit Baltistan: 374 and Azad Kashmir: 419
Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 in the country, 316 are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in Balochistan and GB.

Till now, Pakistan has conducted 6,136,799 tests. Currently, 3,066 patients are being treated in 613 COVID-19 facilities in the country.
