Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity rate reaches 8% as it records over 3,400 new cases

As of March 19, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 27,188.

In the last 24 hours, 3,449 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 40 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As of March 19, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 27,188. Yesterday, 42,845 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,527; Punjab:15,818; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP):7,443; Islamabad(ICT):7,291; Balochistan:453; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB):289 and Azad Kashmir(AJK):1,024.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 276 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 578,314 recoveries.

A total of 619,259 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 11377; Balochistan:19290; GB:4967; ICT:50096, KPK:77972; Punjab:193054 and Sindh:262503.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 13757 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5919 casualties followed by Sindh:4473; KPK:2196; Islamabad: 536; Balochistan: 202; GB: 103 and AJK: 328.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,601 patients being treated across the country. A total of 9,691,087 tests have been conducted so far.
