Pakistan records lowest COVID-19 positivity rate in three months

Pakistan reported its lowest coronavirus positivity ratio in three months at 3.71 per cent. In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 71 deaths while 1,771 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of June 1, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 57,336. On Monday, 47,633 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 13,389; Punjab: 22,881; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 6,451; Islamabad(ICT): 3,220; Balochistan: 1,392; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 309 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 978.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 443 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 908,576 recoveries.

A total of 922,824 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 19,250; Balochistan: 25,218; GB: 5,588; ICT: 81,257, KP: 132,822; Punjab: 340,110 and Sindh: 318,579.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 20,850 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,039 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,039 KPK: 4,079; Islamabad: 762; Balochistan: 280; GB: 107 and AJK: 544.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 4,161 patients being treated across the country. A total of 13,269,214 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
