Pakistan records highest single-day death toll in over four months

In the last 24 hours, 2,885 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 89 people lost their lives according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Pakistan’s confirmed deaths due to virus now stand at 8,487.

As of December 8, the total active cases in Pakistan stand at 44,241. Yesterday, 33,610 test were conducted with Sindh conducting 12,442; Punjab: 10,735; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,159; Islamabad: 5,019; Gilgit-Baltistan: 504; Balochistan: 403
Azad Kashmir: 348

Since the start of the pandemic, 370,451 people have recovered across Pakistan making it a significant count.

Out of 1765 vents allocated for COVID-19 in the country, only 336 vents are occupied. Currently, there is no patient on vent in Balochistan and GB.

A total of 423,179 cases have been detected so far (AJK 7390, Balochistan 17501, GB 4746, ICT 33061, KP 50078, Punjab 124191, Sindh 186212)

Till now, Pakistan has conducted 5,827,852 tests. Around 3,048 patients are admitted across 616 COVID-19 facilities in the country.
