In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 65 deaths while 2,724 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The positivity rate was recorded at 4.65 per cent in the country
As of May 26, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 60,268. On Tuesday, 59,076 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 18,132; Punjab: 25,245; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 7,859; Islamabad(ICT): 4,961; Balochistan: 1,410; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 459 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 1,010.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 517 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 908,576 recoveries.
A total of 908,576 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 18,940; Balochistan: 24,733; GB: 5,516; ICT: 80,662, KP: 130,644; Punjab:336,315 and Sindh: 311,766.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 20,465 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 9,875 casualties followed by Sindh:4,942; KPK: 3,990; Islamabad: 748; Balochistan: 271; GB: 107 and AJK: 532.
639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 4,654 patients being treated across the country. A total of 12,884,544 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
