Pakistan records 1,629 COVID-19 cases, 23 deaths in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 1,629 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 23 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

As of January 25, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 33,820. Yesterday, 36,607 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,388; Punjab: 15,760; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 6,329; Islamabad: 4,267; Balochistan: 279; Gilgit-Baltistan: 314 and Azad Kashmir: 270.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 300 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK and Balochistan.

A total of 534,041 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 8,825; Balochistan: 18,750; GB: 4,902, ICT: 40,815, KPK: 65,532; Punjab: 154,017 and Sindh: 241,200.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 11,318 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,568 casualties followed by Sindh: 3,892, KPK: 4,568; Islamabad: 468; Balochistan: 193; GB: 102 and AJK: 256.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,731 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 7,680,242 tests.
