Pakistan records 1,388 new COVID-19 infections, 75 fatalities

In the last 24 hours, 1388 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 75 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of March 3, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 16,648. Yesterday, 32,945 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 7,315; Punjab:14,339; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP):6,062; Islamabad(ICT):3,934; Balochistan:420; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB):333 and Azad Kashmir(AJK):542.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 220 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 583,916 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 10319; Balochistan:19076; GB:4956; ICT:44690, KPK:72801; Punjab:173395 and Sindh:258679.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 13013 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5441 casualties followed by Sindh:4372; KPK:2091; Islamabad: 501; Balochistan: 200; GB: 102 and AJK: 306.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 1,995 patients being treated across the country. A total of 9,055,069 tests have been conducted so far.
