Pakistan records 1,072 new COVID-19 infections, 62 fatalities

The country's death toll climbed to 12,128 after 62 people succumbed to the deadly disease

In the last 24 hours, 1,072 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 62 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of February 10, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 30,512. Yesterday, 31,713 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,2599; Punjab: 11,273; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,010; Islamabad: 4,428; Balochistan: 611; Gilgit-Baltistan: 361 and Azad Kashmir: 431.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 256 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 557,591 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 9,291; Balochistan: 18,891; GB: 4,920; ICT: 42,188, KPK: 68,786; Punjab: 161,757 and Sindh: 251,758.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 12,128 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,948 casualties followed by Sindh: 4,157; KPK: 1,970; Islamabad: 481; Balochistan: 197; GB: 102 and AJK: 273.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,168 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 8,288,091 tests.
