Pakistan records 1,037 new COVID-19 cases, 40 fatalities

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 40 fatalities due to COVID-19 while 1037 people tested positive, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Sindh followed by Punjab.

As of July 1, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 31,767. On Tuesday, 46,145 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,520; Punjab: 17,107; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 10,006; Islamabad(ICT): 2,808; Balochistan: 637; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 455 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 552.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 239 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 904,320 recoveries.

A total of 958,408 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 20,343; Balochistan: 27,178; GB: 6,138; ICT: 82,706, KP: 138,068; Punjab: 346,301 and Sindh: 337,674.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 22,321 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,755 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,464 KP: 4,320; Islamabad: 779; Balochistan: 309; GB: 111 and AJK: 583.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,201 patients being treated across the country. A total of 14,590,230 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
